Starting with 14 men, the Colts played like we had 18 on the pitch at times, with a number of the lads lifting the load of two men at times through the match. Early scoring from Tom Webb, set the scene for a tense friendly, with the scores ticking upwards evenly until later on in the second half. Chinnor eventually down to 12 players as Tom was binned, and front row injuries meant uncontested scrums. By no means a dirty dozen, a lead was built from 19 -19 until the final result at 31 -19.
Great play from Greg Smith who needed 4 opposition players to take him down each time, Luke and Alex in the back row tackled tirelessly around the park and were even found in the open from time to time and great finishing from Will and Finn kept the score moving forward. With a team short on numbers, staying on the pitch was as important as scoring, and brave performances from Freddie, Sam and Elliot who all got to their feet after taking heavy hits to play on.
Played in brilliant sunshine, on a perfect pitch - what’s not to like at Wycombe!
