Banbury Rfc Colts 12-Chinnor Rfc Colts 22
Happy coaches, players and parents.
A bleak and miserable day welcomed us to Banbury where the colts were to do battle. This game was always going to be a hard game with Mark Nicholls and Dave Cook coming up against them before numerous times and had been on the wrong end of the result but not this time!!!!!!
The game started off well with Chinnor showing great dominance at the breakdown which lead to Jp Preston popping to Tom Alexander or in turn gave a great pass to Jack Aston who showed a certain Chinnor coach the finger, always good to get the reaction i wanted. 0-5 conv missed.
Sustained pressure from Chinnor saw Banbury never getting into our half unless they were kicking away. More great play from Chinnor down the left flank saw Preston drive over from close range. No doubt like all front row his try " started with a leisurely breakfast" 0-10 con missed
Banbury then came back with a vengence with a great break from and 4 missed tackles they went over in the corner 5-10 conv missed.
With the 2nd half underway Chinnor kept the pressure up and a great cross field kick collected by Aston to make it 5-15 with Charlie Nicholls converting 5-17. Banbury were now spurred on and a great break from their centre again with missed tackles who scored under the posts. Conv scored 12-17. The last try of the game was something special a great steal in the scrum by Alfie Tolley with Nicholls going blind passing to Aston who drew his mind and passed back to Nicholls who went over in the corner to make the final score 12-22.
Lots of happy lads, supporters and coaches aftert this win and it showed what we are capable of.
