Chinnor Colts 12 Bracknell colts 15
With October now upon us and a good crowd at Kingsey Road it was the colts first league game of the season. Bracknell had come to win and it showed from the start with them having most of the posession in the first 20 mins it seemed as the Chinnor lads were not really firing.
They were lucky to go in at half time only 8 nil down with Bracknell scoring a try and a penalty. With Changes made at halftime it seemed to invigorate the team and Jp Preston who the day before had scored on his first start in the 2nd team win the day before, bulldozed his way with support over the line to make the score 5-8. Moments late another try from Bracknell who's 2nd row ran half the length of the pitch to score under the posts to make it 5-15. This seemed to give the boys a kick in the backside and things started to work more smoothly and we started to make inroads into Bracknell who now were starting to puff. From a lineout quick ball was spun out to Max McMinn who split the defence and gave to Harry Gillet who crashed through a couple of defenders to ground the ball. Mcminn duly converted to make the final score 12-15.
Not the score the coaching team and the boys wanted at home but they all know what we need to work on as our fitness told in the end we were coming back strong and with more time who knows what could have happen. But as a Old Colts coach said to me " You should never be in the position in the first place"
