Chinnor opened the scoring 12 minutes into the match which was played at quite a rate and pace throughout. With the exception of the first try, Grove were not letting Chinnor through despite repeated attempts. This gave Grove some confidence and they scored on the 23rd minute and again just before half time.
In the second half, Chinnor came back with more intelligent play, passing the ball out a little earlier. This gave the backs several more opportunities, some of which they converted into points. It was a good display of teamwork with stronger players looking to support some of the less experienced players.
Some great defensive work on show by Grove, including holding up two potential tries and a late converted try just before the final whistle. The teams meet again in early December for the return fixture.
