Three teams entered (Gold, Black & White) into the 10s festival, all the Chinnor U15s played well with some well worked tries against most of the clubs in the County

A great start to competitive matches for all players at the 10s festival at Banbury.

We entered three teams into the competition, with one streamed team and two unstreamed teams. This stretched us a little with a number of players unavailable or injured, but we were grateful to other clubs who lent us a player or two for each match. We also swapped Henry & Josh between teams so thank you to both of them. The festival was the first date in our fixture calendar and the matches were preceded by a minute's silence to remember Frank McCusker, one of the Banbury U15s coaches, who died over the summer.

Chinnor 'Gold' did very well from the off and had the highest try count of the day. They played Oxford Harlequins, Banbury, Witney and Wallingford. In terms of results, winning the first match against Oxford Harlequins was the highlight, but there were also opportunities for newer players too and Ed made a good impression in the last match.

Chinnor 'Black' faced a tough Bicester followed by Wallingford and Banbury. The first match was a bit of a wake up call against Bicester, who played better than we did. Things settled after that with supporters commenting on Nathan's pace and agility. The highlight was a hatrick of tries scored in the last match by Harry R who captained the side.

Chinnor 'White' had the hardest draw playing Grove, Bicester and Oxford Harlequins. Lineout training paid off with every lineout being won (and most played off the top), and credit to Ollie and Archie lifting Chris with Sean and Sam sharing the throwing in duties. Some missed tackles (and some stiff opposition) resulted in some tries against us.

A special mention goes to our 'country' members (Henry, William and Rosco) who were able to play for the club this weekend.

A big thank you to parents and supporters - next weekend sees a single U15s team playing away at Saracens.
