With a Chinnor team away at Reading Chinnor also hosted a weakened Chesham team who had lost several players due to school moves and had combined forces with Drifters.
The game started with Chesham on top. We were slow at the break downs and we leaked a few early tackles which gave the opposition confidence. They scored first and converted.
This shook our team up and when we finally got some good ball Nathan B- H scythed through their defence. Freddie Skinnier came on and immediately scored a try after a well rucked and quickly distributed ball giving him space to expose the gaps.
Chinnor never looked back after this. Confidence grew and an expansive game prevailed. Thanks to quick ball from half backs Huw Owen- Jones and Joseph Vaughan the backs scored the majority of the tries. Two tries for Ben Warmer on the left wing thanks to the centres working the overlaps well.
The forwards worked extremely well as a team and learnt what can be done when everyone pulls together. Notable performances from Tom Clifford, Joe Lawton, and Lewis Parks. Matty Ng’s first performance for some time was rewarded with the last try of the match, while Jaco Peacock carved a memorable try from 2nd row.
