A clinical display of rugby from Chinnor

Chinnor welcomed Wallingford to Thame, on a misty Sunday morning for what was anticipated as a tough match following games in recent seasons.

Chinnor kicked off and managed to recover the ball and within the first minute Wilkinson was cantering down the wing to cross in the corner! Great start! From the kickoff Chinnor moved the wall forward and released Fernando who sprinted down the left wing to touchdown under the posts and leave an easy conversion for Buckland. Wallingford kicked off and before the match recorder could type the score into his smartphone, Chinnor had scored again, Pietersen breaking through the centre and crossing. Converted. 10 minutes gone and Fernando was in again, conversion missed. 22-0 soon became 29 (Hunt from his 22) and then a double by Biss and Chinnor led 43-0 at half time!!!! The crowd hadn't expected this!

Personnel changes at half time for Chinnor did not stop the tries and Green soon made it 50 and 10 mins later it was 57, Green again with Nicholls now on place kicking duties. Couple of minutes later and Biss was in again and finally with the last play Wilkinson finished off the match as he started with a try converted by Nicholls. All in all a clinical display of rugby from Chinnor who overwhelmed the opposition from the off with power up front and some scintillating back moves executed with pace and guile. Well done to Wallingford who did not give up and competed all over the pitch for the whole game. All in all an excellent win for this young team who have very quickly worked out how to use the full pitch.
