Chinnor welcome the Redingensians on a sunny Autumn day. The black and white playing into the wind receive the kick off, keep possession well and within 2 minutes George Hope scores the first try of the the day 5-0. Redingensians respond positively to conceding early, compete well in the scrum ,and look dangerous on the counter especially with their speedy wingers. A mistake in mid field leads to a knock on, the referee plays advantage, our boys switch off and the Redingensians score under the posts and convert 5-7.
Chinnor gain a lot of possession with no reward due to good organised defence and some good interceptions from the opposition. On 33 mins a counter attack from the Chinnor half and good interplay result in a penalty to Chinnor for infringement at the break down which is then kicked into the Redingensians corner. From the line out and close work from the forwards Martin Bradburn crashes over for Chinnor to take the lead 10-7. Everybody now eagerly waiting on the touch line for the boys to take control and push on and dominate. Redingensians think otherwise and from possession in mid field break through and score in corner just before half time to take the lead 10-12 .
Second half, playing with the wind, the black and white dominate the start and camp ourselves in the opposition 22. Finally their reward, from the 5 metre scrum with Nick 'grizzer' Harrison picking up at the base of the scrum and driving over the line which was converted by Ricky Hopwood 17-12.
Chinnor are now playing well and start to control the game. 55mins in from a scrum on the half way line quick ball through to the backs results in a good line from Nathan Napier who breaks the Redingensians defence and runs into the corner to score. An unlucky conversion from Ricky Hopwood hitting the upright, 22-12. On 60 mins Chinnor have a line out catch nod drive gaining some yardage. Joe Winpenny breakaway passes to Nick 'grizzer' Harrison who with exceptional individual skill chips the ball over the top of Redingensians defence, chases and with a kind bounce the ball pops up into his hands to score his second try 27-12.
Chinnor are playing well and are now in full control scoring a further 3 quick tries in a 5 min period. Nick 'grizzer' Harrison who was committed and outstanding throughout from open play scores his hat trick 34-12. A good kick into the Redingensians 22 by Ricky Hopwood and good line chase by the lads puts the opposition under pressure and results in turnover with Harry Hillier scoring 39-12. Our final try of the day came from Tom Jarvis, a scrummage and good attacking wing play from Guy Hacksaw falls just short of line as he is tackled into touch. line out turned over and darting run from Tom to score 44-12 . Redingensians gave a good performance and caused Chinnor problems beak away at the end to score and convert 44-19 .
Overall this was a good performance which has executed in dominant second half display by the team reporters star man today has to be Nick 'grizzer' Harrison who has dominant in gaining valuable yardage passed the game line and his energy all over pitch influencing his team.
