Chinnor ease past Esherand get back into the grove..........groove.

Esher kick off with the wind behind them and the first 5 minutes are evenly match as they sparred for supremacy. Following a serious injury to Esher's fullback a long delay is incurred. All of the team send the young full back our best wishes and a speedy recovery. With the match now playing on the ajoining pitch Chinnor get straight into the action with a lot of possession and territory. On 14 minutes a penalty is awarded to Chinnor and they kick towards the Esher touch line. A line out is caught by Dave McKee who lands and spins through the gap created by Esher's forwards to score the first try of the day, 0-5. On 20 minutes Chinnor score again from midfield, NIck Grizza Harrison breaks the line and off loads the ball to Dave McKee supporting him who despite recovering from injury was outstanding whilst on the pitch. The resulting breakdown creates quick ball to the backs for George Stodge Blewitt to score in the corner, 0-10. Esher to their credit, who are fielding a youthful side with an average age of 19, show great determination and desire and get straight back into the game after a penalty is awarded for an offside offence which is converted 3-10. On 29 minutes Esher level the score, with great handling skills from the No.8 to release the left winger to score, with the conversion 10-10. Esher's tails are up at this stage, the open flanker and tight head causing Chinnor forwards problems at the breakdown with constant turn over ball and their fly half providing territory with tactical kicking. On 34 minutes Esher win a penalty for not releasing and go for goal which is converted and they take the lead 13-10. This is the half time score.
The second half starts extremely well for Chinnor with a try after 2 minutes. A ruck is formed by the touch line in Esher's 22, the ball is spread quickly through midfield to George Grose who breaks a couple of tackles to dance through and score 13-15. Pressure is now mounting on the Esher team and the Chinnor forwards are becoming dominant making hard yards with every carry providing good platform to our backs. On 52 minutes a missed throw at the line out by Chinnor is caught by Guido who burst through, he off loads to Alex Waddington who evades a couple of tackles to score besides the posts, George Grose converts 13-22. Esher's penalty count is now becoming high for repeat offences and it is not long before the referee goes to the pocket reducing them to 14 men resulting in non contested scrums. From the penalty the ball is played through the hands of the backs to the opposite side of the pitch, a ruck is formed and Dean Collins picks the ball from the base and crashes over followed by a good conversion by George Grose 13-29. Chinnor are now playing good rugby, Max Williams consistent as ever playing superbly, Guido making good yardage with the ball and the backs orchestrated by Matty Mountford are now in full flow along with Martin Nutt playing his 14th game this season for the 2s. On 72 minutes Chinnor score their final try, NIck Grizza Harrison in open play and after numerous phases breaks the Esher defence to score with George Grose converting 13-36. This is the final score.
Overall this was solid team performance by the boys, with outstanding performaces around the park from both backs and forwards. Reporters star man this week is Alex Waddington for his unbelievable performance action all around the park , break down clear out and turn over ball finishing off with a well deserved try.
Finally a thank you to our hosts Esher for their hospitality. They played a youthful side with a great future no doubt with some superb individual displays of their own. Once again are thoughts go to Esher's full back for a speedy recovery, we hope to see him playing again soon.
