CHINNOR Falcons produced a superb second-half performance, but were unable to pull off an impressive comeback as they were beaten 36-22 by Jersey Athletic on Saturday.
Ben Mulholland, Will Titherington and James Davies crossed in an eye-catching encounter at the Stade Athletic.
Jersey produced a stunning first-half display to lead 29-3 at the break, with our only points courtesy of a Greg Goodfellow penalty.
Our first try was all about Keston Lines, who caught an overthrown lineout, spun out of a tackle and produced a one-handed offload for Mulholland to scamper over. Goodfellow added the extras to cut the deficit to 19 points.
We then further reduced Jersey’s lead to 12 on 65 minutes when Titherington crossed following strong running from Davies. Goodfellow again slotted the conversion.
Jersey scored again, but our Falcons had the final say with four minutes to go when Davies dived over in the corner for an unconverted try.
