OLLIE Smith scored a hat-trick of tries as our Falcons beat Cinderford Utd 31-10 in their first fixture of the new season.

The 2021/22 campaign will see our Second XV play competitive friendlies against high-level opponents and they enjoyed an impressive victory on Pitch 2 at Kingsey Road.

Bradley Harewood and Ryan Lomas were also our try-scorers, with Max Titchener converting three of our scores, on a sunny September afternoon.

Cinderford’s pack caused problems early on, but brilliant defensive work kept them at bay and we opened the scoring on 13 minutes when Ryan Crowley’s superb offload sent winger Smith racing over for an unconverted try from 40m out.

Harewood then added our second score five minutes later, before Smith and Lomas tries – Titchener converting all three – helped us into a 26-3 lead at the break.

Smith then completed his hat-trick on 45 minutes, before Cindy scored a late consolation try as we ran out winners.
