CHINNOR Falcons produced an impressive display to run in seven tries and beat Witney in the Oxfordshire RFU Cup.
Tom Strathdee, Ryan Collins, George Grose, Rob Nicholls, Sam Angell, Paddy Dias and George Hope crossed on a freezing cold evening at Hailey Road.
Witney played 50 minutes with 14 men after their right wing was red-carded, but the visitors were already 15-0 in front.
Chinnor will find out their semi-final opponents in due course, but the next round will be played on February 22-23.
The Thame-based side, made up mainly of Wildboys, were on top from the off and scored three fine tries.
Centre Strathdee and winger Collins raced over on the left to make it 10-0, before full-back Grose glided across to stretch the visitors’ advantage to 15 points.
Witney were then reduced to 14 men on the half-hour mark when their right wing punched Nicholls following a clash off the ball.
The Chinnor centre was sin-binned for his role, but scored his side’s fourth try on his return to the pitch.
Nicholls finished off a fine move which had started with Grose’s strong carry inside his own half and a Collins break down the left.
Chinnor’s dominance continued after the break and fly-half Angell, who impressively ran the show all evening, converted his own try to make it 27-0 after 47 minutes.
Lock Dias then finished off another good move, which had been started by a classy kick from Angell off the outside of his boot. The fly-half converted again for a 34-point lead.
No 8 Hope crossed late on, Angell converting, for Chinnor’s seventh try.
Witney had refused to give in all evening and completed the scoring in the last play with a consolation effort.
