Will Millett led the way as Chinnor claimed a heartening victory.
Early Chinnor pressure was rewarded with a penalty from Millett. Then a storming 30-metre run from Andy Berry allowed Millett to touch down under the posts and convert. Redruth started to gain some dominance and Murray Westren scored a penalty for Redruth.
Chinnor responded quickly with a Millett penalty.
The next try came from a scintillating run from Tristan Corpe. He took the ball 30 metres from the line, chipped over the opposition and caught the ball before scoring. Millett added the conversion.
As the first half drew to a close, Chinnor lost concentration and were like rabbits in the headlights as David Jones kicked through to score under the posts. The try was converted by Westren to make the half time score 20 - 10.
Playing with the wind in the second half, Chinnor gave their supporters every expectation of further tries. However, Redruth had other ideas. Redruth were camped in the Chinnor 22 and eventually the pressure paid off with a rolling maul as Darren Jacques touched down after 55 minutes.
The game then went into a period of attritional rugby as both sets of forwards slugged it out in the middle of the field.
Eventually Chinnor broke the deadlock after 68 minutes with a 70-metre solo run by Millett to touch down in the corner. It proved to be the last try of the game with Matt Goode adding the conversion.
This was a good performance from Chinnor against a Redruth team who never laid down. Concentration at certain times could be improved, but as the team gels together and learns to go through the phases this 4 from 4 start has given a great platform for the season.
