CHINNOR completed their pre-season campaign with a home double-header on Saturday.
Although National League 2 South side Old Albanian left Kingsey Road with a 36-7 victory in the early fixture, the hosts improved to beat Welsh Premier Division outfit Carmarthen Quins 29-22.
Chinnor now turn their attentions to the final week of preparation before their National League 1 opener at Blackheath on Saturday.
Caolan Ryan converted his own try to score the home side’s only points against Old Albanian.
But Josh McNulty, Willie Ryan, Craig Duncan and Jason Worrall all went over as Chinnor beat Carmarthen in a physical, defence-driven encounter.
Both sides forced early penalties and Chinnor made the most of an opportunity to kick to the corner to go 7-0 up. Prop McNulty was driven over, fly-half Laurence May converting.
However, Quins levelled on 12 minutes when Ben Leung touched down.
Chinnor’s May and Stef Marshall exchanged penalties, before the hosts made it 17-10 as Willie Ryan barged his way over on the brink of half time. May adding the extras.
Quins levelled, once again, when Dale Ford crossed, but tries from Duncan and Worrall put the game beyond the visitors.
Leung scored his second try late on, but Chinnor had already done enough.
