Westcliff proved to be a combative, well drilled unit that never gave up against a Chinnor side determined to put the final polish to their pre-season drills. In the first half, Westcliff struggled to handle the pace of the Chinnor backs and power the Chinnor scrum and Chinnor came off the field with the game already won at half time.

In the 2nd half it was a little different - the new rolling subs rules for this season will take all sides some time to get used to as its very easy to take the pace and power out of a game as the 10 interchanges happen. It will be interesting to see how National 2 coaches deal with this new, but at the same time difficult, process during the season.

So Chinnor are now ready - the club house is ready, the team is ready and now its Dings Crusaders at home in National 2S on Saturday.

It promises to be an exciting season; but we say that every year don't we!
