All Black legends send video messages for Chinnor & Gosford All Blacks U13's ahead of the inaugural Jonah Lomu Challenge Cup game on Waitangi day.

Waitangi day is a very important day in the history of New Zealand - every 6th February New Zealanders remember the historic signing of the Waitangi Treaty in 1840.

The Junior U13 teams from Chinnor RFC and Gosford All Blacks are celebrating Waitangi Day this year with the inaugural Jonah Lomu Challenge Cup game between the two clubs .

Jonah Lomu's sad passing last year prompted Paul Shearman at Chinnor to think of a way in which we could celebrate Jonah's life and help his family by raising funds for the Jonah Lomu Legacy Trust (http://www.jonahlomulegacy.com)

This game follows on from the fundraising evening held in September when renowned author James Kerr came and spoke about his time with the All Blacks ahead of the 2011 World Cup. Now the U13's have a new event on the horizon.

This Sunday they welcome friends in rugby Gosford All Blacks to participate in the inaugural Jonah Lomu Cup match. The match is the brainchild of Paul Shearman, the fixtures secretary for the U13s, himself of New Zealand extraction but who has made Chinnor Rugby Club his home. It’s a chance to honour the great man himself and the ethos to which he played his rugby. An event they hope that will be continued for many years to come. On the day itself, the boys will also take a collection for the Jonah Lomu Legacy Trust, we hope those that can will give generously.

We wish the U13 the very best of luck in the match and also to those that are playing in the country cup match too.
