CHINNOR RFC Thame is pleased to announce the re-signing of three more key players for the 2023/24 season.
Max Heathman, Alfie North and Jack Walsh have all committed to Chinnor for a third campaign at Kingsey Road.
This adds to the ten re-signings which were announced three weeks ago and it is great to see the core of our squad staying at the Club.
Openside flanker Heathman signed in May 2021 and has impressed with his talent, attitude and passion since his arrival. Max broke into our First XV in March 2022 after overcoming injury and has been a near ever-present since, with 29 caps to his name. We look forward to seeing him back in a Chinnor jersey next season.
North is up there as one of our most consistent performers over the last couple of years and has wracked up 40 appearances since signing in August 2021. Alfie can play anywhere across the back row - and has shown he can fill in at lock too - with his engine, strength and all-round powerhouse game earning many fans on the touchline. It's great to see you stay, Alfie and here's to a speedy recovery from that foot injury!
Experienced half-back Walsh also joined Chinnor during the summer of 2021 when Covid restrictions only allowed for adapted rules, and has shone during his two campaigns at Kingsey Road. Walshy - capable of playing at 9 or 10 - always catches the eye with his attacking flair and skillset, and we're looking forward to seeing him add to his 38 caps.
Director of Rugby, Nick Easter, said: "It's brilliant all three players have committed to another season at Chinnor.
"Jack provides a wealth of experience in the leagues in the critical area of half back, and brings an attacking threat to our game.
"Alfie was arguably our most consistent player until injury last season and is still very young with huge potential.
"Max personifies the type of attitude we are trying to instill at Chinnor. He has an insatiable desire to improve every time he steps out to training or match day. Like Alfie, he has grown hugely this season and there is more to come, so I for one am excited for the future."
