Congratulations to the Chinnor RFC Wildboys on their superb victory in the Oxfordshire County Cup Final on Saturday. Hosted by Henley RFC, the final saw the Wildboys take on a determined Banbury 2’s side in challenging conditions, with a warm day, bright sunshine and a big, wide pitch setting the scene.

While the final score of 90–5 reflects an outstanding attacking performance, the contest was tighter than the scoreline suggests, with Banbury competing strongly, particularly in the early exchanges. The Wildboys showed composure, teamwork and patience to gradually take control and turn pressure into points.

Backed by loud and passionate support from the Chinnor faithful, the team rose to the occasion and played with real pride in the shirt. The club is immensely proud of the Wildboys’ achievement and the manner in which they represented Chinnor RFC. A fitting reward for their hard work and commitment throughout the season.

Head Coach, James Cathcart, commented - 'We're delighted with the control we showed today. We've played in some horrendous conditions this season, so it was great to see us get the ball through the hands and score some quality tries. The forwards worked tirelessly and provided a solid platform for running rugby. It's been a squad effort and players are more committed to training hard and that effort is paying off across all our amateur teams.'
