Chinnor are delighted to secure the signing of the Laurence May

25 year old fly half Laurence May arrives at Kingsey Road having played in 26 games for Ealing Trailfinders this season.

Previously Laurence spent four seasons at Cornish Pirates, initially on dual registration from Exeter Chiefs then signing for three seasons thereafter.

Laurence was top points scorer each season and amassed 599 points in 97 games.

Chinnor DOR Matt Williams commented "When the opportunity arose to bring Laurence to Chinnor it was an absolute no brainer. To be able to sign someone of Laurence's pedigree and him still only be 25 years old is a testament to how far we have come in such a short time.
Laurence is an exciting talent and can blend attacking prowess with game management.
The biggest lesson we have learned from our maiden season in N1 is squad depth. Craig Holland had to play 10 games at fly half which was a huge credit to him but that’s obviously a tough situation for the team having your most dangerous back three thrust into the 10 jersey!
Depth is the key word for the new season, something we've worked hard at, and nothing proves this more than the exciting battle between Caolan Ryan, Bertie Hopkin and Laurence for the 10 jersey!"

Laurence added "Having just moved to London from Cornwall I didn't want to move again for Champ rugby and Matt offered me the chance to be part of a project. It feels like something exciting is building at Chinnor both on and off the pitch! I hope I can do my part in laying the foundations to a bigger goal at Kingsey Road."
