WHILE the Club is officially shut for business during the pandemic, COVID-19 has not prevented work being carried out at our Kingsey Road home.
As you would have seen, our fantastic Friday Club have been busy looking after the pitches, which are in excellent condition, and surrounding grounds.
But there has also been plenty of work carried out inside, thanks to the efforts of Will Brewer, Greg Goodfellow and Bailey Legland who have been cleaning the clubhouse.
As Club Steward, Will has undertaken the majority of the work and is ensuring our home will be ready for business when we are able to re-open.
“I’m just keeping the Club ticking over,” he said.
“I started to clear the changing rooms and then upstairs, taking down the curtains and giving it a bit of a spring clean - it’s coming out nice.
“It’s given me time to look over the Club because during the season it’s so busy.
“Greg and young Bailey have also helped out and the Friday Club have been pottering outside - the pitches are looking fantastic.
“It’s mostly been myself to crack on, but it’s been quite good and I’ve been able to give the Club a bit of TLC.”
Will added: “The Club’s definitely not been shut up. The doors have been open and I’ve just been cracking on.
“I’ve had my Gold music on, opened up the windows and let a bit of light in so I’m not in the dark.
“It is a strange feeling definitely, but I look at it as an off-season preparation of a club and you make it as normal as possible.”
