One Hundred Girls Registered at Chinnor RFC

GIRLS hit the 100 CLUB!!

It's been a really busy season for the girls section and while steadily growing numbers and building a solid coaching and support group they last week had the fantastic news that they have hit the 100 Club.

There has been much to celebrate over the last few months and the new partnership that has been formed with the Buck Girls Rugby Charity supported by the RFU has resulted in them being able to maximize opportunities and events. We thank them for their support.

Having 100 girls registered puts us in the top 30 girls sections of the country and their biggest success this season has to be the fast growing U12s group which now has 20 players. The newly formed U10s girls are doing nicely with 11 players and we look forward to continuing to grow all age group numbers during the summer.

Our U14-16s teams are very healthy, both with 20+ players and our U18s continue to flourish and swoop into the Kites pathway.

Highlights so far…..
● 11 U16 Girls playing school rugby
● 40 Brownies & Guides visiting for a fun session
● Rugby Fest - A community event organized by Fran Ronan which involved
● 160 + school girls year 5-7 who joined us for a day of rugby along with World Cup Winner Maud Muir & the Cup!
● 10 U16s selected for Oxfordshire PDG Program
● 8 U18s represented Oxfordshire County
● Our Christmas Bring A Friend - 33 players taking part in our U10-12s Festive event

Girls Lead Lisa Fincken commented, “It has been non stop since we returned in September but the growth we are seeing across the girls has just been amazing, our U10s & U12s are just brilliant, their energy and enthusiasm is infectious. We are so lucky to have a great coaching and admin group who work very hard to give all the girls the best rugby experience they can. I have worked closely with Fran Ronan this season and the fruition of this has proved that as a club when we work together we can most definitely make a difference! Reaching a 100 girls is just such a great milestone to reach."

Emma Canter our representative on the board commented,
“Reaching the ‘100 club’ is a monumental achievement that reflects the dedication, commitment and generosity of so many. Seeing our girls’ section rank among the top 30 in the country is testament to the high quality rugby experience for every age group, from our newest U10s to the flourishing U18s. This growth not only strengthens our club today but services the future of the Kites pathway for years to come. A huge thank you to all our volunteers supporting the girls section - your tireless support is appreciated”.
