Ealing Trio Join On Loan

Ealing Trio Join On Loan

Jack Johnson9 Aug 2021 - 11:58

Welcome, James Bourton, Elliot Chilvers & Cameron Terry!

CHINNOR RFC Thame is pleased to confirm the loan signings of James Bourton, Elliot Chilvers and Cameron Terry from Ealing Trailfinders.

The trio all join our Senior Squad ahead of the 2021/22 National League 1 season.

Bourton joined Ealing’s Academy from the Harlequins Elite Player Development Group. The centre made two senior appearances for Quins in the Premiership Rugby Shield and he is looking to make the most of the experience at Kingsey Road.

He said: “I’m really happy to have joined Chinnor, they are a great club with high ambitions. Everyone from the players through to the backroom staff has been so welcoming and I can’t wait to get the season underway.”

Loosehead prop Chilvers came through the Northampton Saints Academy and joins with first team experience at Ealing. He has progressed through the academy at Trailfinders and signed a professional contract earlier this year.

On joining Chinnor, he said: “I’m very happy with the opportunity to be at Chinnor this season. It’s a great environment to be involved in.”

Terry graduated from Gloucester’s Academy and is now part of the set-up at Ealing. The hooker, who can also play in the back row, can’t wait to get started at Chinnor.

He said: “I’m really excited for the new season and I’m looking forward to seeing how far the group can go.”

Chinnor RFC Thame Director of Rugby, Richard Thorpe added: “I am delighted to continue the Club’s relationship with Ealing Trailfinders. National League 1 clubs play an important role in the development of professional rugby players. Whether we at Chinnor develop homegrown top flight players, or assist higher level sides in turning out future stars, this is certainly a key target for the Club over the coming years. Bourts has already impressed during pre-season in the midfield with a high level of physicality and impressive skillset given his relatively young age. It is clear Elliot has a bright future in the front row given he brings many of the hallmarks of a modern-day top-level loosehead. We have already seen an impressive display from Cam back in May during his brief loan for our friendly against Rams. I am delighted to have these three with us for the 2021/22 season.”
