CHINNOR RFC Thame can confirm that James Down has called time on his playing career.

We thank Downer for his efforts and hard work in a Chinnor jersey, and wish him all the best in his next chapter.

The experienced lock joined the Club last summer and was an almost ever-present for our First XV during the 2022/23 season, playing 24 of our 26 matches in National 1. An absolute master at lineout time, his steal in the last play at home to Bishop's Stortford in early February helped to secure a memorable victory, and he was a popular try-scorer in our win over Hull at the beginning of April.

James, who also played for Cardiff Blues, London Welsh and Lokomotiv Penza, works as a Recruiter at Carmichael UK and we wish him well in his career away from rugby.
