CHINNOR RFC Thame is pleased to announce that the Club has been awarded a contract from Oxfordshire County Council to run FREE holiday camps for local children this summer.
The camps are open to children and young people aged 5-16 who are eligible for free school meals.
This opportunity is provided as part of the government’s expanded Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme being delivered across Oxfordshire.
This is thanks to the successful campaigning of Manchester United and England footballer, Marcus Rashford, with the government agreeing to make more than £220 million available to local authorities to expand the HAF programme across the whole of England meaning that the scheme would be available to children in every local authority.
The HAF Camps will be delivered by Chinnor RFC Thame’s Community Department, which is powered by Community Group.
We will provide enjoyable activities and nutritious meals for primary and secondary school aged children who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals (Pupil Premium students). A percentage of our daily places will also be available for children who are not eligible for this.
Children will be able to access a variety of fun outdoor and indoor activities, including multi-sport games (football, cricket, rounders, tag rugby activities, etc) as well as arts and crafts with qualified professionals. A free cooked meal will also be provided, all at no cost to parents.
