WE’RE welcoming a special guest to Kingsey Road on Saturday, August 28, with a World Cup winner visiting for our Women & Girls Skills Coaching Session.

Saracens and England forward Marlie Packer will be at the Club next month to speak about her rugby journey.

The day itself is a great opportunity for players to learn and hone their skills as well as meet a star of the women’s game.

Open to newcomers and existing players from all clubs, this event will include practical skills of passing, tackling, small-sided games as well as some technical areas with specialist coaches.

A two-course lunch will be served afterwards in The Bird In Hand, immediately followed by Marlie speaking about her rugby journey from Yeovil to Saracens and the Red Roses.

The format of the day will be as follows:
10:00 - Registration
10:30 - Rugby Skills Session (rotation around 4 skill zones)
12:15 - Lunch
13:00 - 'My Rugby Journey' with Marlie Packer
13:30 - Q&A with Marlie Packer

Participants will be organised into coaching groups at registration and we will naturally try to keep pairs of friends together in the same group. There will be adult groups as well as age-grade groups (Under 18, Under 15 & Under 13), so please purchase the relevant ticket when following the link at the bottom of this page.

Coaching will be delivered by qualified coaches, many with professional or semi-professional rugby backgrounds. Additionally, youth coaches are DBS checked and first aid cover will be provided.

Everyone will need sports kit, studded boots (or trainers if dry), a waterproof top, a gum guard (to participate in contact sessions) and a water bottle.
