Tring under 7s visit Rectory Road to join the Chinnnor training session
By Stephen Fairfax
40 children, 4 pitches and a bulldog session to remember!!
Tring RFC turned up in strength at Rectory Road with a squad of 24 under 7s, all very excited to make new friends and train together.
After the usual warm up exercises, the first 30 minutes was spent practicing the art of passing whilst running (jogging in a line with the last man running from the back to receive the ball) and passing under pressure ( get the ball to end of the line before the runner).
After the water break, the children were separated in to mixed teams of 4 and 5 strong to play what looked from the outside, as some really great games of tag rugby.
The morning finished with good old bulldogs, which with 40 children on a standard u7s pitch, certainly looked very challenging as the game progressed to the final stages.
Congratulations to both Barnaby and Codie for winning this weeks laces for displaying this weeks core value of discipline, long may it continue.
Finally, Thank you to Andy, James, Michael, Simon B, Simon L and Nicola who helped run this morning session, bar the festival, it was by far the most children we have had in one training session and as ever your hard work, patience and dedication is very much appreciated.
I look forward to seeing you all next week at Wallingford.
