This is set up to be an immense battle between two heavy weights in front of a passionate crowd.

This Saturday sees the return of National League rugby after a festive 2 week break. However all festive cheer will now be firmly left in December,as Chinnor travel away to Redruth. Chinnor are sitting joint second, 2 points off Bishops Stortford who sit top of the table. Redruth are in 5th, 11 points off Chinnor ,so this is a massive opportunity to close that gap and make a statement early in 2017. Last time these sides met Chinnor were victorious in a 21-5 win at Kingsey Road. Redruth have a superb home record and great support with hell fire corner in full flow. Chinnor however are chomping at the bit to make a statement early on in the second part of the season following a disappointing end to 2016. All that being said this is set up to be an immense battle between two heavy weights in front of a passionate crowd.

Redruth are a big physical side that will look for dominance upfront in the forwards. Ben Priddey starts at hooker, the navy captain will be hoping for a dominant set piece. Redruth legend Chris Fuca will be adding a huge wealth of experience as he has played an impressive 300 games for his side. Kyle Marriott will start at Number 8 and will be hoping to continue his good form into the second half of the season. In the backs Redruth will be looking for any opportunity to get it wide to winger Alex Ducker who sits on an incredible 19 tries to date.

Chinnor have made a few changes to the side that drew with Henley. Ross Parkins comes into the second row while player /coach Richard Thorpe starts at open side with Tom Burns returning at Number 8. Oxford Blue fly half Basil Strang will make his Chinnor debut. Junior Fatalofia will start at inside centre. Steve Castle starts at full back, with Kieran Goss moving round to the wing. Any travelling support will be most welcomed although we do appreciate that it is a very long journey. Please be sure to follow the game on twitter! Thanks again for your on going support. The Best is Yet to Come in 2017!!
