A quick word of congratulations from Club Chairman Doug Humphries and a call for volunteers to build on the club's success...

The 1st XV maintained their unbeaten record in a brilliant game against Old Elthamians - the pack on top form and the defence was second to none. We received several compliments from visitors, officials and the opposition and our support was fantastic. The atmosphere at the club was superb.

This would not have been achieved without the continued help from our sponsors, supporters, our paid staff and, most of all, our volunteers. We had a record number of people visiting the club and were grateful for help in the shop, on parking duties and manning the gate.

We know we need more help and are looking for new and returning volunteers to join us and be part of the success. If you could give up a couple of hours to help on match days that would be most appreciated. We are aiming to set up a pool of honorary stewards – a ‘Saturday Club’ if you will – to help share the match-day duties. The tasks are not onerous (training / briefing will be given), but make a difference for every member and visitor coming to the club.

In addition to this we are looking for volunteers who can help with our publicity and social media output as well as for some IT support roles around or website and data management. After several years of outstanding service our communications team are 'passing on the baton' and we thank them for their service. We have a great website, good press coverage and active social media. If you have experience and/or a desire to learn, we would like to hear from you. In addition, our new PA system awaits a match-day commentator to keep supporters informed of match progress and scorers.

If you are able to help in any of these aspects of supporting the club or would like more information, please contact me or Alex Bond (Honorary Secretary).
Many thanks

Doug Humphries
Chairman
