Friday night sessions a big hit in 2020

O2 TOUCH sessions have proved popular at Chinnor RFC Thame during 2020.

Despite the Coronavirus pandemic, the desire from our membership and wider community to play rugby union in some form has not dwindled.

As we have steadily moved from Stage A-E on the RFU’s Return to Rugby Roadmap, O2 Touch, with the exception of the November lockdown, has been able to run every Friday since August in a safe environment.

Numbers have been regularly above 50, with some playing for the first time.

Organiser, Andrew Shepherd said: “What a fantastic, if disjointed, year we have had, often conducting four matches running simultaneously and introducing many new players into our fold.

“Thank you all for your excellent behaviour.

“A lot of players have become fitter, and better at handling thanks to being able to play on the same pitch as some of our more able players. Your spirit and attitude have been commendable.”

Following the temporary closure of the Club, we will provide you with a further update about the return of rugby activity at Kingsey Road at the earliest possible opportunity.
