Chinnor Rugby are delighted to announce the first two signings for the forth coming season, both arriving from recently relegated Rotherham Titans.

Fly half Caolan Ryan began his professional career in the Worcester Warriors Academy, before going on to play for Moseley and Coventry respectively. After a short spell at Darlington Mowden Park Caolan has enjoyed 2 seasons at Rotherham.

Caolan made an impressive contribution for the Titans last term in what was a very difficult season being one of the stand out players finishing the season with the Player of the Season Award.

Predominantly a Goalkicking Fly half, Caolan is also capable of playing full back, having previously played Championship rugby in both shirts.

A delighted Matt Williams, “Filling Jonny (Bentley) boots was always going to be a tough ask and add the pressure of a new league we needed the right man to guide the ship. In Caolan I believe we have that! In a team low on confidence Caolan had some great performances and came to me highly recommended by several Championship coaches. He had the opportunity to stay Pro but with a year to go on his degree decided we were the right fit. I am excited to see what he can do in the Black and White!”

Returning to Kingsey Road after a season away is the battering ram back row and former fan favourite Tom Burns. Tom commented, “I had the opportunity to stay at Titans but if I was to consider playing in National 1 it was only ever going to be for Chinnor! After a tough season it is exciting to be back, and in a new league. Matt has put a great squad together and I cannot wait to put the Black and White hoops back on and see what we can achieve on the paddock!” Matt added, “Tom was our go to ball carrier that we badly missed last season. He is a big no thrills powerhouse and I am truly delighted he has returned home. Every team needs the get out of jail gain line carrier and Tom more than gives us that.”
