Chinnor travel North for last match of record breaking season.

Chinnor make the long journey to Darlington on Saturday looking to finish off their Championship season in style. The mind sometimes has a tendency to play tricks as it only seems like a blink of an eye ago when Chinnor kicked off their season on a warm, sunny September afternoon in a very hard fought and physical contest against DMP. The match was very much in the balance until the final minutes when Gossy finished in spectacular style in the corner to make the game safe at 22-10 and notch the bonus point.

It's been some journey since and in the ensuing months Chinnor have scored a remarkable 975 points in 24 games conceding only 351. This run of devastating performances have seen Chinnor take the league by storm and clinch a very well deserved title.

It will be the first time we have visited DMP since September 2022 in the first game of last season. It has traditionally been a battle royale at the most impressive stadium in the league. Chinnor have not won at the stadium since a battling 21-23 win in October 2018 and have lost the last 2 encounters.

The hosts have had a successful season and have taken some very notable scalps, including Rams when they were looking imperious earlier in the season. They have some very dangerous and attacking runners and in Fantini and Ene they boast two of the most powerful threats in the League. Ene's performances have been noticed and he has recently signed with Sale Sharks. Former Newcastle Falcon Pascoe is a live wire at scrum half and he is sandwiched between 2 highly experienced and high quality performers in Hodgson and Law. They will be looking to bounce back from their recent defeat at Lions a couple of weeks ago and will be super focused to finish the season with a win in front of their home crowd.

George Stokes and Morgan Passman , two of our standout performers this season, both represented DMP with distinction and will be looking to make their mark against old friends. If he's sobered up from his rather prolonged celebrations Passman's battle against former Falcon Checksfield in the centre won't be for the faint hearted. As always Stokesy will be giving 100% in his battle in the back row. He'll be joined in the backrow with debutant starter Tom Clifford, after showing well off the bench.

It will be great for the team to finish off with a win to round off the historic season. If you’re not making the trip North we look forward to seeing you on Sunday ?
