Bob the builder reports...

It has been a steady week on site with mostly internal works being completed.

Sure enough the electricians and plumbers arrived as scheduled and have been busy since. The heating pipework has been extended with radiator sizes and locations agreed. The waste pipe serving the new gents WC and the kitchen needed some modification but that now been completed.

On the electrical front, the extended kitchen has had the wiring run for the new lighting, sockets, extractor hood and gas interlock valve. The same has been completed for the new areas on the ground floor with some tidying up of existing electrics still to be completed.

The building work has also progressed particularly in the kitchen with the new section of roof insulated. There has been a short delay in getting the roof sheeting fitted and this is now scheduled for next week. A little more of the existing roof than was planned is going to be removed to better enable the stairs to be lifted in.

Planned works this coming week are:

  • the delivery and installation of the stairs
  • pouring the screed for the extended areas
  • finalising the plumbing runs (first fix)
  • fitting the aluminium roof sheeting

The good news this week was that the club was still able to host a function for CPM, one of our Platinum Sponsors, an RFU Level 2 coaching course and a 40th Birthday Party in the members bar. Busy, busy, busy...

Until next week!

Bob (aka Hon Sec)
