Initially what appeared to be a stroll in the park for Chinnor, who scored two tries in the first five minutes was a long way from reality. Chinnor with the wind at their backs went over within 2 minute with Kieran Goss breaking through weak tackling and scoring under the posts with Greg Goodfellow adding the extras. This was compounded by more further defensive errors by Old Reds allowing Alex Bradley to again score under the posts with Greg Goodfellow converting.
Then followed a good period where Chinnor lost their shape and the Reds had the majority of possession for the next 15 minutes. Old Reds deservedly scored from a rolling maul with Hewick touching down but the conversion was missed.
With Ben Manning receiving a team yellow after a succession of penalties against Chinnor for their indiscipline. Old Reds then added to their score via Parsons which mainly came from Chinnor’s inability to retain possession. Eventually, just before half time, Chinnor gained a penalty try for Old Red offences. However, this did not signal the end of the first half as the referee reversed a penalty decision for Chinnor indiscipline allowing Reds to kick for the corner and an alert Bird went over for a try on the stroke of half time.
After the break Chinnor started positively with a Kieran Goss break putting Tom Price in at the corner flag with a sublime conversion by Goodfellow. From the restart a 80 metre run from Greg Goodfellow was foiled a metre from the Old Reds line from unfortunately resulted an afternoon ending injury. Chinnor built on this field position and created space for Henry Lamont to score . Oscar Heath took over kicking duties and the 100% record form the tee. An immediate response form Old Reds saw Hewick dotting down for his second try of the afternoon. Some intelligent play from Chinnor then lead to the gaps in the Old Reds defence to be exposed again for Luke Hibberd to clinically finish out wide with another conversion by Oscar Heath

With Chinnor’s first up tacking becoming a little lack lustre and handling errors becoming too frequent the Red’s Doyle took advantage to score their fifth and final try. The game ended on a sour note after an altercation with Chinnor prop Jack Gilding receiving a straight red for a punch.

Saul Nelson the Red coach said “ We came away and lost scoring five tries, We need to be far more efficient defensively and continue to score points. The boys are positive and understand the challenge ahead”

Chinnor’s Ricky Khan said “ Today we played with against some adversity because of some inforced changes. We have a number of injuries but kept it together and came away with another five points
