Chinnor II XV 36 vs.
Marlow II XV 0
Saturday 12th November 2005
Chinnor 2nd team had
yet another clean slate in their league game with six out of six wins in
their match against Marlow 2nd, but more importantly they
haven’t conceded any points. They have 217 Points for and nil against.
This must be some kind of record.
The Chinnor pack took control in
the scrums from the start, and they were in the lead after 5 minutes
with some good and hard forward play driving Marlow forwards back before
Raakai Maxwell broke away from the scrum to score. The try was converted
by Jamie Hiscock, who has taken over the kicking with Adam White being
promoted to the first team.
The Chinnor pack was awesome and
went further ahead 10minutes later with the pack driving Ian Stock over
for a try with a carbon copy 10minutes later giving Stock his second try
which was well converted by Jamie Hiscock.
It was then the turn of the
backs to send the ball out to the wing to Johnny David who had joined
the line from full back to score again.
Marlow had no answer to the
power of the Chinnor forwards, but they never gave up. In the last
minute of the first half Mikaeli Lia from Denmark having his first game
for Chinnor seconds, broke through Marlow’s defence to score and Hiscock
converted it. Chinnor ended the first half 31 points to Nil up.
Marlow started the second half
very well and threw every thing at Chinnor but the defence held up.
Mikaeli Lia scored his second try bringing the Chinnor score to 36
points to nil.
Jamie Hiscock had a hard knock
and as result was carried off the field with concussion and replaced by
Brendan Davis. It wasn’t much later when Ben Hackshaw came off the bench
and sadly five minutes later left the field with his jaw broken in two
places and was rushed to Wycombe Hospital and subsequently transferred
to John Radcliffe Hospital. This did take the bite out of Chinnor’s
play, and as a result they just keep control of the game with no fire
works like it had been in the first half.
Chinnor has found another very
good forward in Mikaeli Lia.
All of Chinnor’s 18 players
played well, and man of the match was shared jointly between Ian Stock
and Mikaeli Lia.
Scorers:
Tries: Ian Stock (2), Mikaeli Lia (2), Raakai Maxwell (1),
Johnny David (1)
Conversions: Jamie Hiscock (3)
