Under
13's lose in final of Banbury 10's
Sunday 2nd April 2006

FIRST GAME
CHINNOR V GROVE (50-0)
With only seven
minutes each way this was a game that could not have a settling down
period. With Chinnor running on high, after winning the Oxon Plate
earlier in March they came out on a mission.
Tries run in by
Percival, Bartlett, Lindsay (2) and Benson (3), who ran one in from his
own 10m line. With successful conversions by Carrington (5) and
Carroll (2) the game ended on another striking 50points to nil victory.
SECOND GAME
CHINNOR V OXFORD
HARLEQUINS (29-0)
Yet another
chance for Oxford Harlequins to reverse the score since the last time we
met in March. Unfortunately for Quins the match belonged to Chinnor from
the start. With tries run in by Bartlett, Benson and a well deserved hat
trick from Lindsay and conversions from Carroll and Carrington the final
score, again after the Quins coach stopped the game early, finished at
29 points to nil.
THIRD GAME
CHINNOR V BANBURY FOR SEMI FINALS (24-0)
With the weather
changing for the worse and rain falling in heavy sheets the semi final
started off against the home team with tries from Percival, Benson and a
happy double from Bartlett. Two conversions from Carroll helped the
visitors reach 24 points before the home team knew what was happening.
FOURTH
GAME
CHINNOR V HENLEY FOR FINAL (0-19)
After moving
onto the main team pitch for the final the rain started its full attack
on two tired and battered teams. Chinnors lack of fitness stopped them
against a renown physical and well drilled side. Henley started as they
finished which caused problems for the young Chinnor team.
Although not a
total runaway, this meeting of two equals teams turned in Henley’s
favour with Henley running in 3 tries and 2 conversions.
A good day was
had by all within the squad and we, as a team, would like to thank
Banbury RFC for a fantastic day of well organized rugby.
