Chinnor Mini Festival

Chinnor Mini Festival
Sunday 7th November 2004

  • 1600 visitors to CRFC on Sunday was probably a record.
  • Sold out of over 700 Festival Programmes, with still more people queuing to enter
  • 800+ mini rugby players from 6 clubs, eagerly anticipating more than 150 competitive games.

This year's Festival of Mini Rugby has been another 'standard bearing' success for Chinnor Rugby Club.

The following commendations are among those received on Monday:

To Chinnor Mini/Junior Rugby Section
On behalf of the parents and boys of Wallingford Under 11 side we would like to say what fantastic job your organisers did at yesterdays mini festival
Not only did we felt privileged to be there but one could only stand back and admire the way the whole event was run from start to finish - and also in the right spirit
We greatly appreciated the quality of refereeing (it must have helped having the earlier briefing)
Naturally it is easier to say these things when ones team has fared well but the other coaches that I spoke to from Wallingford and outside were also of the same view
Of course the boys and rugby were the real winners
Well done and many thanks again and wishing you all a successful season.

To all involved
A huge thank you for all the hard work on Sunday. The festival was great, well organised and friendly and what is more we won!! Could I say I especially liked the person just after the gate asking which team we were looking for and directing us to the correct pitch-Great! And that meant a good chance of starting on time. Also the cakes are excellent
Many thanks to all

To Festival Organisers
Please could you also send an enormous thank you, on behalf of Ben and I, to all the organisers for such a tremendous day.

What a superb event. Great organisation (food, toilets, car parking, timetable, refereeing...all the little details as well as macro), excellent rugby (whatever the result for our lot) and wonderful to see so many children enjoying the game. No amount of drizzle could dampen spirits and I am sure they and we will all sleep well tonight.

THANK YOU
I would like to congratulate Derek and the Festival Committee for what has been an excellent festival. Thank you all very much for all your hard work and enthusiasm.
And a really big thank you must go out to all the volunteer helpers involved in: Putting up tents and signs; Car parking; Entry tent/Programme selling; Cake & Confectionery selling; Age-group Control management; First Aid provision; Refereeing; Results co-ordination; Clearing tents and rubbish after the event; And the many more tasks in preparation and delivery of this event. Thank you one and all.
I am keen to receive feedback about this year's festival in the continued hope that we can make improvements every year. Please find attached a simple questionnaire. You can return this to me by e-mail or alternatively print a copy, complete the questions and pop it in the Mini pigeon hole at the club.
