Welcome to Chinnor Under 9s.

This year finds the Under 9's moving from tag to contact rugby, extending and developing the skills gained from previous seasons.

Our training sessions currently last 75 minutes and we follow a strict health and safety regime to keep your child as safe a possible. Our sessions are based on and each child will be encouraged to embrace Rugby's core values TREDS; Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship.

We have our weekly training session on Sunday morning and also have a full timetable of games leading on to a number of festivals toward the end of the season. Our emphasis this season is on learning and developing skills while staying safe and having fun. It is important that players attend as regularly as possible so they have the best opportunity to learn, be involved as the group develops and have the best chance of doing well in matches and festivals.

Please note that gumshields are required to participate in the sessions.

All the coaches are DBS checked and we have a number RFU trained first aiders within the coaching team.

The key elements of the Under 9's Rules of Play are:

• Team numbers: a maximum of 7-a-side

• Maximum pitch size: 60m x 30m

• Ball Size: 3

• Maximum minutes each half: 15

• Introduction of the tackle only but no rucks, mauls, lineouts or scrums
